Indian OceanKomandoo Maldives Island Resort
House reef · Dive shop on-site · PADI courses
Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives
A 65-villa private island in Lhaviyani Atoll, reachable only by a 40-minute seaplane from Malé, and strictly 18-plus. The house reef starts roughly 20 metres off the beach, so reef sharks, turtles and rays are a swim away rather than a boat ride. Diving is run by Prodivers, a PADI centre with free nitrox for certified divers, two guided boat trips daily plus sunrise and night dives, and more than 50 sites within reach across Lhaviyani and neighbouring Noon Atoll — including manta cleaning stations and channel drifts, best between November and March. The island runs about 500m by 200m, with two restaurants, two bars, a pool and the Duniye Spa. Guests can also cross to sister resort Hurawalhi for its undersea restaurant.

CaribbeanSandals Grenada
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Pink Gin Beach, St. George's, Grenada
The best diving in the Sandals chain, on Pink Gin Beach at the southwestern tip of Grenada and just ten minutes from Maurice Bishop International — the second-fastest airport transfer in the portfolio. Being this far south means different reef geography and a different climate from the Jamaica and Bahamas properties, and the island's headline dive is the Underwater Sculpture Park, a submerged installation now known worldwide. Scuba is included for certified divers. Architecturally it is the most interesting Sandals, with the Tunnel Loft suites as its signature, and its spa is rated the chain's best. Shoulder season runs late April to mid-June and mid-August to early December.

CaribbeanSandals Royal Curaçao
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Santa Barbara, Willemstad, Curaçao
Opened in 2022 at Santa Barbara on Curaçao's south coast, and one of the two strongest dive properties in the chain alongside Grenada. Curaçao sits outside the hurricane belt with famously clear water and reef close to shore, which is the main reason to pick it. The quirk that sets it apart is an included MINI Cooper rental — the resort actively expects you to leave and explore the island, unusual for an all-inclusive — alongside the Awa Seaside swim-up suites and a strong dining reputation. Scuba included for certified divers; dive boat slots fill quickly, so book on arrival. Worth filtering reviews by date: the resort had teething problems in its first year that have since been resolved.

CaribbeanSecrets La Romana Resort & Spa
Dive shop on-site · PADI courses · Honeymoon Focus
Bayahibe, Dominican Republic
A 356-room adults-only all-inclusive on Bayahibe Beach, on the Dominican Republic's southeast coast, with Blue Flag certification for the beach and rainforest behind it. The draw for divers is the PADI Five-Star Dive Center on site and Bayahibe's reef-rich waters, with Catalina Island reachable for day trips. Hyatt's Unlimited-Luxury model covers five restaurants, five bars and 24-hour room service, plus two swim-up bars, an infinity pool, the AMBAR spa with a hydrotherapy circuit, tennis, pickleball and a casino. Guests can also use the dining at adjacent Dreams La Romana, a family resort — worth knowing if you want a strictly adults-only bubble. The resort has been undergoing renovation work, so check current status when booking.

CaribbeanSandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Buccament Bay, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
The newest resort in the chain, opened March 2024 on Buccament Bay, and home to its largest overwater bungalow inventory. The standout is the overwater wedding chapel with a glass floor, on a stilted boardwalk out into the bay — the only one of its kind at Sandals. The dive programme is unusually generous even by chain standards: two boat dives a day plus free PADI Open Water certification, where most Sandals charge for the course. The reef offshore is healthy enough to support daily free shore-snorkel sessions, with boat trips out to the Bat Cave and the Falls of Baleine. One honest note: Saint Vincent is volcanic, so the natural sand is dark; the resort imported white sand to lighten its beach to a golden tan rather than the bright white of Antigua or the Bahamas.

CaribbeanSandals Royal Bahamian
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas
On Cable Beach just outside Nassau, and the easiest Sandals to reach from the US — short flights from the east coast make it the one that works for a long weekend rather than a full week. It draws a livelier, younger crowd than the chain average, with a pool and bar scene to match. Snorkelling and diving are among the better offerings in the portfolio, with scuba included for certified divers, and there is an overwater wedding chapel on site. A good pick if flight time matters more than remoteness; less so if you want the secluded, end-of-the-earth feeling of the southern Caribbean properties.

Indian OceanCentara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa
PADI courses · Honeymoon Focus
North Male Atoll, Maldives
A 140-villa island on Giraavaru in North Malé Atoll, 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International — one of the easiest Maldives transfers there is, with no seaplane schedule to work around. Villas sit either on the beach or over the lagoon on stilts, all built for two. A PADI-certified dive centre, run independently, offers courses from Intro to Diving upward, with well-regarded sites reachable in under half an hour by dhoni. Snorkel gear and non-motorised water sports are included on every package; wakeboarding, parasailing and catamaran sailing cost extra. Seven dining venues, a beachfront infinity pool, swim-up bar and SPA Cenvaree. Reviewers consistently rate the service above its price point, while noting the house reef is not the atoll's best.

Red SeaCaves Beach Resort Hurghada
Dive shop on-site
Hurghada, Egypt
An adults-only all-inclusive on the Red Sea coast, built around cave-inspired architecture and a private beach roughly ten minutes' walk from the water's edge. Scuba diving and snorkelling run from the property, which puts Hurghada's reef systems within easy reach — the draw here is the Red Sea itself rather than a house reef at the door. Five restaurants cover international, grilled and Teppanyaki menus, with all buffet meals, snacks and drinks included, plus a non-alcoholic in-room minibar. Two outdoor pools, one with a swim-up bar, a gym, spa and evening entertainment round it out. It rates around 7.6–7.8 out of 10 across the major booking sites — solid rather than luxury, and priced accordingly.

CaribbeanSandals Grande St. Lucian
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Gros Islet / Pigeon Island, Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia
The flagship of the three Saint Lucia properties, set on a peninsula at Rodney Bay with Pigeon Island National Park walkable from the resort. The bay is calm and genuinely swimmable, and snorkelling straight off the beach near the pier turns up fish and coral. For divers the practical advantage over its two sister resorts is the resort's own dock — dive and snorkel boats leave from the property rather than requiring a shuttle to the marina. Its nine Over-the-Water Honeymoon Butler Bungalows were the first overwater accommodation in Saint Lucia, with glass floor panels and ladder access to the water; there is an overwater chapel too. Twelve restaurants on site and seven bars including swim-up. Rooms start around $400 per person per night, with overwater bungalows from roughly $1,100.

CaribbeanSandals Negril
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Negril (Seven Mile Beach), Jamaica
A beach resort first and foremost, on the northern, calmer stretch of Negril's Seven Mile Beach. Because it sits on Jamaica's western tip, the sun sets directly into the water in front of the resort — no other Sandals can say that. Scuba is fully included for certified divers, with two-tank morning dives most days and an on-site training pool for certification courses at extra cost. Unusually for the Caribbean, motorised water sports are included too: waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing alongside the usual kayaks, Hobie Cats and paddleboards. Snorkelling straight off the beach is good. The trade-off is modest pools — four, with two swim-up bars — and fewer restaurants than the larger properties. Reopened in December 2025 after Hurricane Melissa; worth checking current condition.

CaribbeanSandals Grande Antigua
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Dickenson Bay, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda
Set on Dickenson Bay in northwest Antigua, widely rated the island's best beach, and repeatedly voted TripAdvisor's most romantic resort. The layout splits into two villages — a Caribbean beachfront section and a hillside Mediterranean village — with the thatched-roof Rondoval suites as the signature category. It has one of the livelier evening scenes in the chain while still being an easy first Sandals. Diving is included for certified guests and Antigua's reef is respectable, though the chain's stronger dive picks are Grenada and Royal Curaçao. Off-resort, Stingray City, Nelson's Dockyard at English Harbour and Devil's Bridge are all bookable through the resort.

CaribbeanSandals Halcyon Beach
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Castries, Saint Lucia
The smallest and quietest of the three Saint Lucia Sandals — a garden retreat rather than a resort complex, with tropical planting, shaded pathways and a long meandering pool. It suits couples who want an unhurried pace over activity programming, and it is close enough to Marigot village to walk out for a change of scene. The newer Halcyon Shore House Butler Suites come with private pools and have become the most requested category here. Scuba is included for certified divers as chain-wide, though dive boats depart from a nearby marina by shuttle rather than the resort itself. Guests get full access to Grande St. Lucian and Regency La Toc via the free Stay at One, Play at Three shuttle, which offsets the smaller restaurant count.

CaribbeanSandals Royal Plantation
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
The ultra-boutique option in Ocho Rios: just 74 all-ocean-view suites, every one with butler service — there are no standard or club-level rooms here at all. The setting is two private coves rather than a long walking beach, and the atmosphere is deliberately quiet, with none of the pool-party energy of its larger siblings. Colonial-style aesthetic, and reviewers note the rooms feel more traditional than the purpose-built Dunn's River nearby. It is the most expensive Sandals in Jamaica, running roughly $600-1,200 per person per night. Guests get full access to Sandals Ochi's restaurants, nightlife and activities next door, which offsets the small scale. Scuba included for certified divers.

CaribbeanSandals Ochi Beach Resort
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
The largest and liveliest of the three Sandals properties in Ocho Rios, split between a beachfront section and a hillside Mountainside section, with a private offshore island for dining and beach time. It carries the most restaurants, bars, nightlife and room categories in the Jamaica portfolio, which makes it the value pick if variety matters more than polish — reviewers consistently note it feels more spread out and less updated than newer builds. Scuba is included for certified divers, as chain-wide. Roughly 90 minutes by road from Montego Bay, or 25 minutes from Ian Fleming International. Sandals' Stay at 1, Play at 3 programme means guests can also use Dunn's River and Royal Plantation nearby.

CaribbeanSandals Dunn's River
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Ocho Rios (Mammee Bay), Jamaica
Sandals' newest Jamaica flagship, built from scratch in 2023 on the site where the brand began, and the most design-forward property in the portfolio. The showpiece is a ten-storey rooftop pool with its own bar and grill; the signature room categories are the freestanding Rondoval suites and SkyPool suites with private infinity pools. Food quality and modern rooms are where it beats the larger, older Ochi down the road. The trade-offs are a smaller beach and no overwater bungalows. Scuba included for certified divers. Minutes from Dunn's River Falls itself, and guests can dine at the other two Ocho Rios Sandals via free shuttle.

CaribbeanSandals Royal Barbados
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
St. Lawrence Gap (Maxwell Beach, Christ Church), Barbados
The brand's first all-suite resort — all 338 rooms are butler or club-level suites, with no standard category at all — on the Maxwell Coast on the south side of Barbados. The rooftop infinity pool and bar is the signature feature, and there is a bowling alley, which is unusual enough in the Caribbean to be a talking point. Reviewers rate the dining the most sophisticated in the Sandals portfolio. It sits within walking distance of sister resort Sandals Barbados along a connecting path, and guests can use both, which brings the combined restaurant count to about twenty. Scuba included for certified divers. The trade-off is a significant price premium over older properties and a spread-out village layout.

CaribbeanSandals Barbados
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Dover Beach, St. Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, Barbados
The value-priced half of the Barbados pair, sharing the same stretch of south-coast beach as Sandals Royal Barbados next door and connected to it by a short path. The feel here is more relaxed and classically Caribbean than its modern sibling, with easier beach access in places and noticeably lower nightly rates. Crucially, guests get full run of both properties — the rooftop pool, bowling alley and restaurants at Royal Barbados included — which is what makes this the smarter booking for many couples. Calm water, good for floating. Scuba included for certified divers. Note that beachfront rooms and the main pool were scheduled for renovation work during summer 2026.

CaribbeanSandals Regency La Toc
Dive shop on-site · Diving included · PADI courses
Castries, Saint Lucia
Built into a hillside above Castries, with the most dramatic setting of the three Saint Lucia properties and bluff-top Millionaire Suites overlooking the water; a Rondoval village was added in 2025. Golf is the differentiator — it has its own course with complimentary green fees — and it sits closest to the Pitons if you plan to explore that end of the island. Reviewers rate it good value against Grande St. Lucian while noting the beach is the weakest of the three and there are fewer pools. Scuba included for certified divers, with dive boats leaving from a nearby marina by shuttle. Free transport to the other two Saint Lucia resorts adds another 16 restaurants to the dozen or so here.

CaribbeanThe Reef 28
Rooftop Pool
Playa del Carmen, Mexico
An adults-only, all-suites boutique hotel in downtown Playa del Carmen — one block from the beach rather than on it, and a couple of minutes' walk from Fifth Avenue. The rooftop is the centrepiece: an infinity pool with sea views, a bar and evening DJs, which makes this the liveliest property on this list rather than a quiet retreat. Three restaurants and two bars on site, a full spa with sauna and steam room, and a free shuttle to beach clubs at sister properties. The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef sits just offshore, so dive operators are easy to reach, though there is no dive centre at the hotel itself. Minimum check-in age is 18; all-inclusive is an optional upgrade, not the default rate.
