An adults-only, all-suites boutique hotel in downtown Playa del Carmen — one block from the beach rather than on it, and a couple of minutes' walk from Fifth Avenue. The rooftop is the centrepiece: an infinity pool with sea views, a bar and evening DJs, which makes this the liveliest property on this list rather than a quiet retreat. Three restaurants and two bars on site, a full spa with sauna and steam room, and a free shuttle to beach clubs at sister properties. The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef sits just offshore, so dive operators are easy to reach, though there is no dive centre at the hotel itself. Minimum check-in age is 18; all-inclusive is an optional upgrade, not the default rate.
