Indian OceanKomandoo Maldives Island Resort

Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives
A 65-villa private island in Lhaviyani Atoll, reachable only by a 40-minute seaplane from Malé, and strictly 18-plus. The house reef starts roughly 20 metres off the beach, so reef sharks, turtles and rays are a swim away rather than a boat ride. Diving is run by Prodivers, a PADI centre with free nitrox for certified divers, two guided boat trips daily plus sunrise and night dives, and more than 50 sites within reach across Lhaviyani and neighbouring Noon Atoll — including manta cleaning stations and channel drifts, best between November and March. The island runs about 500m by 200m, with two restaurants, two bars, a pool and the Duniye Spa. Guests can also cross to sister resort Hurawalhi for its undersea restaurant.

CaribbeanSandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Buccament Bay, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
The newest resort in the chain, opened March 2024 on Buccament Bay, and home to its largest overwater bungalow inventory. The standout is the overwater wedding chapel with a glass floor, on a stilted boardwalk out into the bay — the only one of its kind at Sandals. The dive programme is unusually generous even by chain standards: two boat dives a day plus free PADI Open Water certification, where most Sandals charge for the course. The reef offshore is healthy enough to support daily free shore-snorkel sessions, with boat trips out to the Bat Cave and the Falls of Baleine. One honest note: Saint Vincent is volcanic, so the natural sand is dark; the resort imported white sand to lighten its beach to a golden tan rather than the bright white of Antigua or the Bahamas.

CaribbeanSandals Grande St. Lucian
House reef · Dive shop on-site · Diving included
Gros Islet / Pigeon Island, Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia
The flagship of the three Saint Lucia properties, set on a peninsula at Rodney Bay with Pigeon Island National Park walkable from the resort. The bay is calm and genuinely swimmable, and snorkelling straight off the beach near the pier turns up fish and coral. For divers the practical advantage over its two sister resorts is the resort's own dock — dive and snorkel boats leave from the property rather than requiring a shuttle to the marina. Its nine Over-the-Water Honeymoon Butler Bungalows were the first overwater accommodation in Saint Lucia, with glass floor panels and ladder access to the water; there is an overwater chapel too. Twelve restaurants on site and seven bars including swim-up. Rooms start around $400 per person per night, with overwater bungalows from roughly $1,100.
